The most popular insects being used for food are butterflies did you know that there are 2000 species of butterflies in New Zealand and moths there are also 2000 moths native to New Zealand, beetles, ants, grasshoppers, crickets,cicadas, huhu grubs are native to New Zealand and Three cockroaches are native species to New Zealand cockroaches.
Popular recipes to cook them?
One recipe is to lightly coat the insect in soy sauce and wrap them in foil, roast within the foil and then begin taking it off under the flame as it gets hotter.
This is how you cook them?
They are most commonly being fried, deep fried,boiling and roasting them directly under the flame. You usually completely destroy the insect them you could steam them in a pot or pan, anyway possible,
